School - University - Education System Partnerships
The Professional Experiences Office in the faculty seeks to develop bridges between the work of the staff and students of the Faculty and the work of teachers, schools, school districts, educational institutions and the wider educational community. The 'practicum' office negotiates and implements School-University-Education System Partnerships for a range of our teacher education programs. The office can also link teachers, schools and education systems to the research staff and professional development staff of the Faculty. The following list of partnership schools give examples of the range of the types of partnerships and their associated outcomes.

The faculty has developed special partnerships with the following schools and other bodies:

St George District of the NSW Department of Education and Training
Currently the Department of Education and Training funds two half lectureships where staff are jointly located at the Georges River College Oatley (Georges River College website) and the Faculty of Education and Social Work.
There are three broad areas of outcomes from this partnership:
(a) University Developed Board Endorsed Courses Two courses are offered to Stage 6 students at Georges River College, Oatley. By targeting particular skills students need for study at university, these courses assist students make the transition between high school and University.
(b) Enrichment of pre-service teacher training
University seminars, workshops and conferences are held at Georges River College, Oatley facilitating teachers and schools direct involvement in enriching pre-service teachers education.
(c) Professional development of in-service teachers
The two lecturers involved in the partnership work with staff at the College and District level developing, providing and evaluating professional develop initiatives.
North Sydney Demonstration School
The university has a well established an ongoing partnership with North Sydney Demonstration school (School website). Teachers at the school provide demonstration lessons for students.
Mercy College Chatswood
The faculty has an Online Partnership with Mercy College Chatswood, hosting a website that links student teachers in the MTeach and BEd courses with the school and its pupils.

TAPA Project Schools
The Tertiary Awareness for Polynesian Students (TAPA) Project provides schools and South Pacific students at Canterbury Girls High, Campsie Primary and James Cook Boys Technology High School with the opportunity to undertake tertiary awareness programs

The Holroyd High school Virtual School Project engages teacher education students in the MTeach and BEd program with the life of Holroyd High.

Curl Curl North Primary School
Curl Curl North Primary School (www.curlcurlschool.com.au or www.curlcurln-p.schools.nsw.edu.au) and the Faculty have fostered a 'Links" program since 1995. The program provides professional learning opportunities for both school staff and preservice teachers undertaking Faculty programs
while enhancing student learning outcomes at the same time. Some of the features of the 'Links' program are listed below:
- mentoring teachers in English literacy, technology and the Creative Arts
- Arts, English and TESOL in school experiences for B.Ed final year primary and MTeach primary student teachers
- benchmarking students' writing
- school observation, practicum and internship experiences
- working with technology to improve literacy outcomes for at risk students
- quality teaching and learning
Crown St Primary School
Crown St Primary School's relationship with the Faculty commenced in 2004. The current focus is on using the NSW DET quality teaching framework to examine the teaching of English and literacy.
