Division of Graduate Studies

The Faculty offers a range of courses in graduate studies and courses in professional development for teachers and other professional educators.

The Faculty is at the forefront of teaching innovations in education. These include the development of a graduate professional teaching qualification in Primary or Secondary teaching offered as a two-year full-time Master of Teaching degree course. There is provision for an extensive internship in schools. International students may wish to return to their home country for this component.

The graduate courses in the Master of Education are based on the academic profiles of the Faculty. Because we have one of the largest graduate programs in Australia, a broad array of seminar courses and degree possibilities with flexible transfer options can be offered. The graduate courses are administered through the Division of Graduate Studies. The Faculty also offers courses in Professional Development. Courses can be designed to suit client needs; you are invited to discuss these with us.

There will be some students who, as a result of work in their particular fields of study, will wish to move from a coursework degree to a research based Master of Philosophy. Others will find that the quality and potential of their research work indicate that transfer to a PhD is warranted. For some, the Doctor of Education will provide an opportunity to combine reflections on professional practice with research training. You are encouraged to discuss these possibilities with staff who work in the graduate area and to explore emerging options as they proceed.
