Human Society & Its Environment Curriculum methods
Students in the HSIE key learning area will enrol in one or more of the following single method curriculum areas in HSIE.
- Commerce/Economics
- Geography
- History
- Social Studies
All candidates enrolled in Commerce/Economics, Geography or Social Studies Curriculum units will complete a program that comprises:
- a common HSIE Core program in each semester of first and second year i.e. HSIE Core 1, 2 and 3 in succession;
- a specialist elective stream in one of the HSIE School Certificate subject areas (chosen from Commerce or Geography or History) in first year;
- a specialist elective stream in one of the HSIE Higher School Certificate subject areas (normally chosen from Geography, Economics/Business Studies, Society & Culture, or Legal Studies and/or another HSC subject, depending on enrolments) in second year.
