Local Students

This page will explain the steps you must take to apply for a postgraduate degree in the Faculty of Education and Social Work if you are a local (non-international) student.

Please select the degree that you wish to apply for:

Education Coursework Programs

• The Graduate Certificate in TEFL (not a teaching qualification)

The following Masters programs can be undertaken at GradCert and GradDip levels.

• The Master of Education (not a teaching qualification)
• The Master of Education (Higher Education) (not a teaching qualification)
• The Master of Education (Coach Education) (not a teaching qualification)
• The Master of Learning Science and Technology (not a teaching qualification)
• Any other coursework degree in Education

Social Work Coursework Programs

• The Master of Social Work (International)
• The Graduate Certificate in Dying, Death and Palliative Care
• The Master of Policy Studies (Also available at Grad Dip and Grad Cert levels)
• The Graduate Certificate in Professional Practice Supervision
• The Master of Social Work (Also available at Grad Dip level and Grad Cert levels)
• The Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Policy and Practice

Research Degrees in Education and Social Work

• Any research degree in Education or Social Work (including the MEd (Research))

Non Award Study

• Applying for non-award study in Education or Social Work

If you are a local student, to apply to the Master Education program in 2008, you must:

• Download the 2008 Master of Education application form. The application form contains important information about how to apply.

If you are a local student, to apply to the Master of Education (Higher Education) program in 2008, you must first register interest on the Institute for Teaching and Learning Website.

Then, when contacted by the ITL, complete the formal enrolment process as follows:

• If applying for the Masters or Diploma, Download the 2008 Master of Education / Graduate Diploma (Higher Education) application form. The application form contains important information about how to apply.
• If applying for the Graduate Certificate, Download the 2008 Graduate Certificate (Higher Education) application form. The application form contains important information about how to apply.

Entry into this program is determined on the basis of academic performance and an interview.

If you are a local student, to apply to the Master Education (Coach Education) program in 2008, you must:

• Download the 2008 Master of Education (Coach Education) application form. The application form contains important information about how to apply.

Following your submission, successful applicants will be contacted for an interview.

If you are a local student, to apply to the Graduate Certificate in TEFL program in 2008, you must:

• Download the 2008 GradCertTEFL application form. The application form contains important information about how to apply.

If you are a local student, to apply to the Master of Learning Science & Technology program in 2008, you must:

• Download the 2008 Master of Learning Science and Technology application form. The application form contains important information about how to apply.

If you are applying as a part of the NSW DET retraining program, please consult the program coordinator upon application.

If you are a local student, to apply to a coursework degree program not listed above (ie. not the MTeach/BTeach, MEd(International), MLST, GradCertTEFL, PhD, EdD, DSW or MPhil programs), you must:

If you are a local student, to apply to the Master of Social Work (International) program in 2008, you must:

If you are a local student, to apply to the Graduate Certificate in Dying, Death and Palliative Care program in 2008, you must:

If you are a local student, to apply to the Master of Policy Studies program in 2008, you must:

If you are a local student, to apply to the Graduate Certificate in Professional Practice Supervision program in 2008, you must:

To apply to the a research degree (Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education or Doctor of Social Work) program in 2009, you must:
