Bachelor of Teaching and Master of Teaching (Early Childhood)
Prerequisites
Applicants for the graduate-entry degrees in early-childhood teaching must have an initial relevant undergraduate qualification.
The English-language requirements for the BTeach and MTeach in Early Childhood are the same as for all other graduate-entry teaching designations offered by the faculty.
Course overview
This course leads to a qualification as a teacher of children aged birth to five years, in pre-primary childcare and early-childhood-education settings.
The curriculum integrates training for general- and special-early-childhood education of infants, toddlers and preschool children so that students are prepared for teaching in diverse and inclusive early-childhood environments, including schools and other community settings.
Graduates are equipped with the necessary knowledge and training to become outstanding early-childhood teachers, decision-makers, ethical leaders, and theoretical and practical thinkers.
Professional experiences
The early childhood course strives to provide students with well-designed professional experiences incorporating observation, participation and supervised teaching in a variety of settings, under the guidance of experienced, qualified professionals.
