Bachelor of Education (Secondary:Humanities and Social Sciences)/Bachelor of Arts
This combined-degree program can lead to an accredited secondary-school-teaching qualification in any two of the following subject areas:
- English
- drama
- classical Hebrew and Judaism as a social science
- history
- mathematics
- teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL)
- visual arts
- geography
- economics
- languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Classical Hebrew, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese and Modern Greek.
Students who choose to major in geography, mathematics or economics must choose their second major from the humanities subjects offered by the Faculty of Arts in order to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts.
As well, candidates who wish to teach only languages or visual arts are able to choose to specialise in these curriculum areas instead of undertaking their second major from a different subject area. The term for this is "double-method" study.
