Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Social Work

This double degree requires five years of full-time study leading to the award of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work. The program initially requires the satisfactory completion of the Bachelor of Arts. Within the Bachelor of Arts program, studies in sociology, Indigenous studies and psychology are compulsory. On completion of the Bachelor of Arts, students proceed to the third and fourth years of the Bachelor of Social Work program. The Bachelor of Social Work degree is accredited to the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) and prepares students for employment in an environment which is complex, diverse and changing. Graduates are expected to be reflective, versatile and skillful in a wide range of practice areas and to be able to translate professional values into action. The two degrees are completed in five years.
