The Role of Educational Theory in the Practice of an Educational Theorist
Friday 9 March 2007
The network hosted a great public lecture presented by Professor Wilf Carr for an enthralled audience. The Network was fortunate that we had Professor Susan Groundwater-Smith, Adjunct Professor of the Faculty and the Director of the Centre for Practitioner Research which is part of our network, to act as a respondent. Wilf presented many audacious ideas and challenging questions that needed a scholar of the caliber of Susan to allow us mere intellectual mortals to make some sense of.
Equity and Education Forum's Conference
Friday 18 May 2007
The network hosted the Equity and Education Forum's Conference, What does it take to make a difference in the 21st century? Bridging the widening gap in educational achievement. The proceedings of the conference are available here.
Professional Learning Conference
We hosted a Professional Learning Conference for teachers who mentors our intern students in the B.Ed (secondary) and MTeach programs. The teachers are able to attend the conference because the intern is taking their classes. The focus of the conference was on authentic assessment practices for student learning. The peer reviewed proceedings of the conference will be published and available for sale by early 2008.
