| Dr Judy Anderson
|
Judy teaches and coordinates the secondary mathematics curriculum units. She also coordinates the teaching and curriculum units in the masters' program. Her research interests include teachers' beliefs and practices in primary and secondary mathematics education as well as the ongoing professional learning of teachers. She is particularly interested in supporting and nurturing new teachers into the profession. Judy is an active member of several professional teachers' associations and works extensively in schools, providing support through a range of projects. She is President Elect of the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers and will take up the position of President in 2008 and 2009. |
| Dr Ann Cheryl Armstrong

Ann Cheryl is one of the co-convenor of this research network and director of the Division of Professional Learning. A former primary school teacher, Ann Cheryl has worked in education and professional development for 20 years and has extensive experience as a teacher, teacher educator, research manager, project manager and program leader. She has worked in countries throughout the Caribbean as well as in the UK and Australia. Before emigrating to Sydney in February 2005, she was employed with the University of Sheffield in the School of Education as Director of the Caribbean Distance Education Programme. In this role, she played a major part in establishing a program of advanced teacher education by mixed-mode distance learning with pathways from postgraduate certificate and diploma, through to master's and doctoral levels. Ann Cheryl has also held senior positions in two national World Bank projects and has extensive experience in networking with government and non-government agencies for the provision of educational and social services and training. |

| Associate Professor Robyn Ewing
|
Robyn Ewing (B.Ed Hons, PhD) is Associate Professor and Acting Dean (Academic Programs) Faculty of Education and Social Work University of Sydney. A former primary teacher, Robyn lectures in Curriculum, English and Drama to preservice and postgraduate teachers. She enjoys working collaboratively with classroom teachers interested in innovative curriculum strategies. Robyn has worked as an academic mentor with teachers at Curl Curl North Primary School for the past twelve years and is also currently working with teachers at Kareela, Newport and Crown St Primary Schools and Freshwater Senior College. She has also worked with parents interested in developing their expertise as literacy tutors. Robyn presents extensively at international, national and state conferences and is frequently involved as a consultant to schools and school systems. Robyn's current research interests include the use of curriculum change and innovation, critical literacy, the use of drama, authentic literary texts and storying to enhance students' learning and critical literacy outcomes, arts informed inquiry as a research methodology and the experiences of early career teachers. She is coauthor of Teaching, Challenges and Dilemmas with Susan GroundwaterSmith and Rosie Le Cornu and Beyond the Script Take 2: Drama in the Classroom written with Jennifer Simons. Last year Robyn edited Beyond the Reading Wars. Towards a balanced approach to helping children learn to read for the Primary English Teaching Association. A recipient of the NSW DirectorGeneral's Award for Outstanding Service to Public Education, the NSW Minister's and Australian College of Educators' Quality Teaching Award and the Vice Chancellor's Excellence in Teaching and Research Higher Degree Supervision Awards, Robyn has a commitment to quality teaching and learning practices at all levels of education. She was President of the Primary English Teaching Association from 2001-2006. |
| Professor Andrew Gonzci

Andrew is the Director of SydneyLearning and an honorary professor in the faculty. His scholarly interests are in the areas of educational policy in vocational and higher education, areas in which he has published extensively, and in educational leadership. Andrew was the Dean of the faculty of education at UTS from 1997 to 2005 and President of the NSW Teacher Education Council in 2004. He has recently been on the academic board of a number of private higher education providers and has undertaken a number of consultancy projects in recent years for schools, private higher education providers, non government agencies and universities. |

Tony is the CoDirector of the Division of Professional Experience. Tony is interested in building links between the faculty and schools that will improve the working lives of teachers and the outcomes of the students they teach. His work involves close collaboration with schoolbased colleagues. At present, he is involved in research and action learning projects at Georges River College, North Sydney Demonstration School,Greystanes High School, Rooty Hill High School, Carlton Public School and Sydney Distance Education Primary School. |
