Professional Learning and Leadership Development Program

Deb Hayes, Robyn Ewing, Judy Anderson and Ann Cheryl Armstrong were successful in their application to conduct an evaluation of the Professional Learning and Leadership Development Program for DET schools across NSW.

The leadership program aims to develop the capacity of supervisors to support early career teachers and in particular to assist New Scheme Teachers to gain and maintain accreditation with the NSW Institute of Teachers.

This professional learning project will be conducted in NSW Government schools between January 2007 and December 2009. School participation is by invitation. The project aims to support up to 70 schools, located in five regions, Western NSW, New England, Riverina, South Western Sydney and Western Sydney, over three years.

Award for MERGA Conference Paper

Dr Janette Bobis recently won an award for a paper she presented at the 2007 MERGA conference held in Hobart. The award, inscribed on a plaque made of Tasmanian Oak, was for the paper with the most practical implications. Janette has also demonstrated all-round ability by being awarded a Carrick citation for teaching excellence in higher education.

USYD Award for Excellence

Associate Professor Robyn Ewing was recently awarded a University of Sydney award for excellence in higher degree supervision.

ARC Network Research Grant

Dr Judy Anderson and Dr Janette Bobis were part of a team that was awarded a prestigious ARC Network research grant for 2007-2009.
