Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Seminar Series

The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) provides information and undertakes research about the cultures and lifestyles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The seminar series for Semester 2, 2009, is designed to communicate the work of the AIATSIS research program and the Institute’s Collections and Family History Unit.

Learning Centre Workshops

The Learning Centre assists students to develop the generic skills necessary for learning and communicating knowledge and ideas at an academic level. The Centre runs useful workshops for developing postgraduate research skills.

Workshops for August and September are:

  • Preparing a thesis proposal
  • Critical writing at postgraduate level
  • Writing a literature review

The Learning Centre’s Gradfest Postgraduate Program for semester 2 is on from 2-27 November. Put this in your diary as during this period, there will be back to back workshops all specifically designed for the needs of postgraduate students.

The Learning Centre’s workshops come highly recommended by other research students and are free of charge.



Menzies Centre for Health Policy Seminar Series

The Menzies Centre for Health Policy promotes and informs public debate on health policy to assist Australia in establishing health care priorities. In doing so, it offers a major event program consisting of evening seminars, conferences and public lectures.
