Postgraduate Research
Welcome!
The Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney provides comprehensive and extensive opportunities to pursue a wide range of research interests. Academic staff specialise in a variety of subject areas, working in a range of disciplines and drawing on diverse methodological approaches.
We understand that an import aspect of completing a successful and rewarding research degree is being part of the research community. Our students are involved in the Faculty’s research community through participation and presentation in seminars, research fora and conferences, and are actively encouraged to publish their work in progress. A list of the high standard of publications produced by our students can be found under Student Publications.
There are over 225 currently enrolled Higher Degree Research Students (HDRS) in the Faculty of Education and Social Work. HDRS are enrolled in one of the following degrees:
- Doctor of Philosophy
- Doctor of Education
- Doctor of Social Work
- Master of Philosophy, and
- Master of Education by Research.
The Postgraduate Research pages aims to inform you of the many activities and workshops available to support our HDRS. It also aims to show case the work of our very active student population.
Research Students' Guide
This Guide is for all higher degree research students in the Faculty of Education and Social Work. It aims to provide students with useful information on services, resources and facilities available within the faculty, University of Sydney, and the World Wide Web. It also provides information on procedures and policies that are relevant to all postgraduate research students.
